Clones Ireland Gift Coins – Rough draft
The following MetaFlorin gift coins are now available by pre-order only. Once the first print run is complete, the gift coins will be available for pick-up in Clones at Lipton’s, and at the remainder of the 42 businesses in the “Embrace The Punt” program.
The gift coins will be made in Ireland of the finest Lenticular printing, which features excellent counterfeit defeating techniques using a minimun of 7 interlaced images on each of the 2 sides.
They are also magical coins that heal the soul.1
Print runs will be limited to a carefully designed low denomination mix of printing that can be done with the purchases of gift coins. The gift coin purchasers will receive their coins first or kept in trust until you pick them up, and the remainder will be distributed equally to all members of the Town Of Clones, expanding to The County Of Monaghan, and eventually The entire population of the island of Ireland.
The key issue is that everyone has a talent. ARG MetaPhoria is committed to ensuring that all people that decide to play in this Alternate Reality Game understand their talent and begin to play by earning gift coins as well as spend them.
There are currently many products in the planning stage that will be able to be purchased with MetaFlorin, and, as the ARG evolves, these products will be released for purchase. Product #1 is The Stirling Engine connected to an electric generator.
The Limited Edition aspect of gift coin production is critical. Currently, ARG MetaPhoria, based in Canada, will process incoming funds through PayPal and will be audited by an established accounting firm (to be confirmed ASAP – we have to call them so they accept that “auditing” means they will monitor the PayPal account Pro Bono.) Complete openness is what we commit to at the outset. No funds will be spent
Once sufficient funds have been built, the printing and artwork is ready, and the funds have been transferred to the Clones representative, the printing will begin.2
Note that PayPal takes about 3% on initial purchase, and another 3% on transfer to Clones. We expect this Canadian “middleman” to eventually disappear.
No taxes are payable on gift card purchases, as it is just a balance sheet transaction . . . a money swap . . . 1 MetaFlorin will be created for every €1.20.3

2 “Sufficient funds” is defined as an optimal or cost effective print run, be it a million or 10 million coins, we will print the right amount for the money on hand.
3 As the Euro devalues due to increased printing by those that choose to print incessantly and give that new money to those the do not need it, be it banks or their friends or themselves, the MetaFlorin exchange rate will worsen, eventually leading to non-acceptance as a viable exchange for MetaFlorin. At that point, MetaFlorin will be able to be used as payment for printing MetaFlorin.
